Welcome to Meridian Counseling! My name is Maria Calhoun. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I offer individual and group psychotherapy for adolescents and adults. Located in Homer, Alaska, Meridian Counseling is committed to providing confidential, compassionate and change-oriented counseling while recognizing diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
My areas of focus include: relational struggles, anxiety, depression, abuse/trauma, substance abuse, eating disorders, grief/loss, career exploration, life transitions, and chronic pain. Groups that I have facilitated address themes such as adult children of alcoholics, domestic violence intervention for both victims and offenders, eating disorder recovery, chronic pain, and women’s issues. In addition, I am able to offer counseling to Spanish-speaking populations.
