Our family defines who we are, how we view the world and teaches us how to relate to others. Often times families can get stuck in unhealthy patterns and conflict is inevitable. In therapy, we will allow each family member to have a voice, feel heard and create new ways of relating to each other.
CHANGE YOUR PERSPECTIVE.
Your therapist may ask the family to come in for therapy. Research has shown that therapy is more effective when the entire family system is being treated. We work collaboratively with families and joining the system in order to understand the unique culture of each family. We ask that the family teach us about roles, traditions, expectations. Then we work with all of the family members to recognize and draw upon the strengths of the system. Together we will figure out what is working and what areas can be improved.
