Valerie Beltrán is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the Bay Area of California. Valerie has a private practice with offices in Lafayette and Danville, CA, and specializes in working with children, couples (including non-monogamous), and trauma. Valerie specializes in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a technique that utilizes bilateral stimulation to reprocess traumatic experiences.

Valerie is mixed-race Mexican, American, and Native American, and grew up in Southern New Mexico on the border between the USA and Mexico. As such, she has become adept at metaphorically walking between worlds, and knows what it's like to struggle with cultural identity. Valerie has great diversity in her practice, with clients from many different cultures, religions, sexual orientations, gender identities, socio-economic backgrounds, and all walks of life.

Valerie integrates Western psychological methods with Eastern and Indigenous teachings and traditions, along with cutting-edge research on the mind-body connection. Valerie studied Integral Psychotherapy in graduate school, a program based on Ken Wilber’s Integral Theory, and that incorporates consciousness studies as well as Eastern and Indigenous teachings into traditional Western psychology.

Valerie was formerly the Head of Operations for Consciousness Hacking, a global community exploring technology as a catalyst for psychological, emotional, and spiritual flourishing.

Incorporating these ancient teachings and futuristic technologies, Valerie has cultivated a theoretical orientation that is integrative, research-based, and evolutionary.

As well as seeing clients in private practice, Valerie provides teachings and trainings on trauma, and is available for consultation with trauma, children and families, or non-monogamy.
